Pallet timber, softwood and hardwood

A brief description of pallet timber:

Timber is a natural product used in many technical areas. Wood is treated easily, it has good and exclusive features. Each type of wood has different hardness and density as well as the appearance (texture). This feature is due to the fact that wood is used for interior decoration. Rare and precious species are used for furniture; cheaper types of wood are used for construction timber and pallet timber.

Pallet timber generally is made of softwood (spruce, pine) and hardwood (birch, alder, aspen, etc.) timber.

Softwood:

Spruce - a very soft, light, it has resin pockets. Spruce has low-shrinkage during drying process, knotty, therefore is difficult to plane.
Pine - a very soft, light, it has resin pockets. Spruce has low-shrinkage during drying, flexible, particularly insensitive to moisture.

Hardwood:

Birch - soft, heavy, solid, elastic, significantly distort during drying, hardly splits, easily handled, susceptible to changes in atmospheric. Used for beams and pallet blocks production.
Alder - soft, light, solid, very elastic, easily splits, easily handled.
Aspen - very soft, light, easily decreasing sizes during drying process, easily handled.
